We’re pleased to share this elegant washed coffee from Tgsit Boru, a woman producer from Beloya village in the Kochere district of southern Ethiopia. A mother of six, Tgsit cultivates 2.8 hectares of land at around 1,700 metres above sea level, where coffee grows under the shade of native trees including Cordia Africana and Ensete.
This lot highlights the clarity and floral character Kochere is known for, with a clean washed profile supported by careful fermentation and slow drying.

The story:
Coffee farming in Kochere is rooted in tradition, with most producers working small plots of land using inherited knowledge passed down through generations. Tgsit’s farm reflects this deep connection to place, combining traditional shade-grown practices with careful attention to quality and harvest selection.
As part of Ethiopia’s historic coffee heartland, her work contributes to a long legacy of smallholder production that continues to define the country’s specialty coffee identity.
The process:
Ripe cherries are selectively harvested and fermented for approximately 36 hours before being fully washed. The coffee is then sun-dried slowly on raised African beds, allowing for even moisture reduction and the development of a clean, refined cup profile.
